The San Giacomo Hotel, operating since 1988, has been built over a site dating back to around year 1000 a.c.
According to witnesses and archeological remains found in this area of Assisi and in the foundations of this structure, this site was designated as an accommodation for the workers who built up the Basilica of St. Francis. The hotel is located in a strategic and wonderful position in Assisi town center, just 100 meters away from the Basilica itself.
Since the beginning, the owners have been managing the hotel with strong passion and care trying to satisfy their clients with warm hospitality, courtesy and the quality of services offered.

Some rooms still keep the brick ribbed vaults, typical of the architecture of Middle Ages and maintain their ancient appeal.
